Katie Bell - B.A Hons/CERT ED/QTLS/N.A.T.D/I.S.T.D:

Bell Dance Academy’s aspiration is to engage as many young people as possible with movement and dance. In the last 5 years Bell Dance Academy has created a range of great projects with multiple schools. Some of these projects are listed below:

WW2 Evacuee Project, Space Dance, Dance Actions, The Magic Train Ride, Into the woods (Little red riding hood) Rainforests and choreography of school plays.

We have also worked with Schools in the Kernow Learning Trust and the Rainbow Trust. We have worked to create strong relationships with staff and students at all the school to create projects that work with the curriculum, also developing dance skill and confidence.

We also have a number of regular classes during the week at preschools and primary schools. These include, Newquay Preschool and Trenance Childcare, the classes work of movement development and mindfulness movement development, linking our healthy minds and bodies.

After School Clubs:

At St Petroc’s Primary School, St Newlyn East Learning Academy, Grampound Road and Foxhole Academy, we hold weekly Musical Theatre, Street and Contemporary dance classes.

We work in partnership with the schools to create classes that are affordable and that the children can access. The classes have proved very popular with both boys and girls. The children then have the opportunity to perform at the end of each term and at the school summer fairs.
